Im confused. You say that you dont have the ***** to tape the handle to paint but you tell people that they dont have to take them off to paint ?
No matter how good you think you are, just take those handles off to paint!
It only takes about 5-10 mins for both of them anyway.
i ll correct myself then, i havent figured out how and where i want to tape them off and what i would like to do for prep phase of painting the door handles
Definitely have a shop do it... at least that way you can get the work warrantied. I had my whole car painted a few months ago; they did the handles free. Twas very nice of them...

That is beautiful! Black is awesome, that is something I want to do with mine eventually.
Got mine done by a body shop too....someone ran into my door so I asked how much to get the handles done when they were fixing the door and they said theyd take care of it no charge =)
3fiddyzed...... the paint will give me the wet look I'm searching for? Just for the heads up. I have a cf hood, smoked out tails 5% tint and black center with carbon outer wheels. The car is dark grey would it look good? Any pics of something similar would be good.
how long did it take the body shop to paint the door handles and let the paint cure before they could put them back on the car
3 Days, 3 coats I think.. He dropped them off and they went on a few hours later... But I think the Matt will cure quicker than the gloss.. May be wrong though..

Personally I would go for a carbon overlay on the roof to tie up with the hood, but if your looking for a wet look then paint is the way forward... better than a vinyl...
Post up a decent pic that shows the roof and someone or myself may be able to photoshop it for you...
