Default Taillight Tint %

Does anyone know where I can get taillight tints that are darker than 6/10? I don't want the purple color, looking more for black.

Also, I just found out that taillight tint is illegal in most states. Has anyone been pulled over for it?

I got my tail lights sprayed and they look amazing IMO. However, I did not get mine fully blackened, during the day you can still see red in them and at night they look black with no light showing through.

As far as getting pulled over for it, it totally depends on where you live and how pissy the cops can be. I have a friend with a truck whose tail lights are fully blacked out and he has gotten pulled over for his tail lights but was let off with a warning. I live in Scottsdale, Az where the cops are pretty lax on illegal tint, so I'm not too worried about it.

And I got my tail lights sprayed at the same place where I got my windows tinted. If you go to a tint shop just ask them if they can do the tail lights for ya. One thing to think about tho, if you get the over lays for em, they will eventually crack overtime when left in the sun. If you go with the spray they won't crack, however, if you go to dark and you don't like it, then your pretty much ****ed. Just somethin to think about.

I had my tails blacked out with film and I couldn't get it inspected last year. I went to 4 different inspection stations and not one of them would inspect it until I pulled the film off. I was told that if I had the DOT approval stickers on the film then I would've passed inspection. To me it would be more of a concern for the inspection process rather than getting pulled over. I would think that as long as you have a valid inspection what really could the police officers say?

We have been using VANS spray, they are made in Japan. These tints come out amazing. They are glossy and they are black in color. They look life factory, you can not see any lines or wrinkles like the film tint. Lasted me about 6 years on my car. 1 can is enough for more than 2 lenses.
