Are you happy with the Interior?
I'm happy with my interior. I'm not a fan of leather for cars as it gets blistering hot in the summer and quite cold in the winter. That being said I don't like sliding all over the place either, especially when I take it to the track. The cloth seats are great.
The instrumentation is clean, easy to read, and very easy to get to. Take a swifter pad or a warm damp cloth and everything is easily cleaned.
I can see where the critics aren't too happy with the "cheap plastic" but I don't mind. The interior was designed nicely. That's what counts. The new STi and Evo 8's are pretty much the same materials, but the interiors are designed as pleasing to view.

I am happy with the interior as well. My major complaint has the lack of an armrest, which I solved. Oh yeah, the door panel material is a pain to clean. I am thinking of covering them in leather to match the seats..but who knows....

Those armrests are cool. That's what I was looking for. Actually I was planning on making my own armrest if I bought the car. But maybe I will check one of those out. The only thing is that they seem too tall. Almost like your elbow is lifted above its normal level. How does it feel to you and which one do you have?
.....Both my wife and I as well as friends of ours who have sports cars think the interior is just fine. It sounds like perhaps you would not be happy with a sports car interior........maybe you should go for a larger car with a very comfortable interior and about 15 different seat adjustment switches.

It is very stylish and functional, that’s all I want in a “sports car”. I got the enthusiast model because I did not want/need luxury items (i.e. Leather, Bose, NAV), if anything it is a little too stylish. Sports cars SHOULD just be functional. I like my cloth seats & the "plain" black interior.
k2we is right, you should see the interior of the original Z and if you ever get the chance check out the interiors of Porsches, Triumphs, & MGs of 30 years ago. If you want more “luxury” go for the G35 coupe.
And I also love the ride that many people think is “too rough”. This is a sports car folks, in the truest definition.

) The enthusiast had everything I wanted, nothing I didn't. HIDs, check, 6 speed, check, RWD, check, limited slip, check, no leather, no BlOSE, etc
I feel the Z's interior is pretty stylish looking but the material quality is definitely a big step down from my 2002 Maxima. It's not quite as bad as the 2K2+ Altima though.
I think it's a combination of the cheap plastics, the textures of everything (door panels, other plastics, and the fabrics).
Ergonomics are pretty good but I'd kinda like an armrest, easier to reach CD storage and I do kinda miss steering wheel mounted stereo controls [not a biggie since the radio is easier to reach than in my Max].

I have had my car for a year now and the one thing I've always disliked was the interior.
As a matter of fact my car is sitting in my driveway now with the seats and headliner out of it. I'm having my entire interior redone. The seats will be done in suede and leather, the headliner in suede and the door panles a mix of suede, leather and Daytona Blue panted fiberglass.
I'll have the seats in tomorrow..... I'm stoked.

I like the interior stying of my PP Enthusiast. The only things that I would chang if possible is having the entire center console in aluminum instead of black platic and placing the hazard button somewhere else. My dog likes to stand on the middle console behind the shifter and steps on the hazard frequently
I've had my Z for 7 months now, and I LOVE the interior even more now then I did when I 1st got it.
I had black after market leather put in, and I think the quality is better then the factory leather Z's I have seen. But I love the simplicity and interesting texture of the plastic and think Nissan nailed it perfectly with the aluminum accents.
After 7 months, I am never tired of it and it has a Zen feeling to it. It just seems to "fit" the Z. I occasionally smoke in the Z (Please no flames ;-> ) and appreciate that the roof is hard plastic instead of some stupid headliner that would trap all of the smoke particles.
Everyone has their preferences for how much lux they want or need in a car. But for me, the Z is perfect.

Just wanted to know how you guys felt about the touring interior. I am considering getting a silverstone touring but dont know if I will be as happy with the interior after I buy it. I know the interior is somewhat cheap looking. But regardless of that I really want to know if it is at most times comfortable. This car would be my everyday driver and I just dont want to make a mistake of not feeling at home in my car. I currently have a WRX and cant stand the interior. The seats are so uncomfortable. No lower back support whatsoever. The Z does offer better support but does not have lumbar. I have always thought that if the support was a problem in the Z I could just have some auto upholster add some padding there. I guess what it all comes down to is that I dont want to spend that much money to not feel comfortable in a car I plan to keep for a while. Which makes me even cosider getting a BMW. So persuade me as to what your opinions are and how happy you are with the inside of your Z.

my interior is 9 out of 10 in terms of "newness". its funny. the people who use to say the 350z has an ugly interior, after sitting in mine, they change their mind really quck. full oem navi, leather seats, double din headunit. no scratches anywhere.
I like the interior, and I really like the large dials on the tachometer and speedometer. I find the constantly changing numbers on most digital readouts distracting.
The only complaint I have is that the digits on the trip computer speedometer are way too small for night driving. I was able to make a handy magnifier lens holder that fits in front of it, though.

The complaint I have about the interior isn't about comfort or functionality at all. It's simply the fact that it's all black, but the textures are different, which makes it look cheap and crappy and unthought out. The different textures should have been different colors by a few shades at least. Black and grey would have been nice, or break it up with a different color for the center console's covers.
I read a review that compared all the Z's with each other, and they said the 350Z interior was the one you'd have most likely pegged as being an '80's car out of all the Z's.
