Default Are you happy with the Interior?

Just wanted to know how you guys felt about the touring interior. I am considering getting a silverstone touring but dont know if I will be as happy with the interior after I buy it. I know the interior is somewhat cheap looking. But regardless of that I really want to know if it is at most times comfortable. This car would be my everyday driver and I just dont want to make a mistake of not feeling at home in my car. I currently have a WRX and cant stand the interior. The seats are so uncomfortable. No lower back support whatsoever. The Z does offer better support but does not have lumbar. I have always thought that if the support was a problem in the Z I could just have some auto upholster add some padding there. I guess what it all comes down to is that I dont want to spend that much money to not feel comfortable in a car I plan to keep for a while. Which makes me even cosider getting a BMW. So persuade me as to what your opinions are and how happy you are with the inside of your Z.

It's not that bad at all. I have had cars that have been less expensive, say for example my 2000 VW Jetta GLX that have had better interiors as far as fit and finish and quality of materials. But when it comes down to styling, I have gotten many compliments on my 350Z's interior. Very fluid. And to be truly honest the fit and finish on my car (late 2003) is very good and I have not had a single problem that the majority of the earlier models had. I got an Enthusiast and had the dealer install the leather afterwards and I must say that my leather looks 10 times better than the touring leather. My car is Black with Burnt Orange, looks great, I should get a license plate that reads SPOOKY-Z or something. ;-) Oh, and by the waym the Z's interior is far better than my 98 BMW 3 series. Not nearly as bland and dated.

I'm very pleased with the interior. I've owned the original 240Z's and those had the worst, cheapest vinal covered plastic interior. Everything in the 350Z is fully functional and easy to use.

i like it...but the only thing that bothers me is the holder in the middle of the dash...it seems like it is really flimsy...hmm..other than that...i like the interior..and the style of it.

I love it. It has the sport look that I wanted. I wish we had an digital rpm gauge now that would be great. or at least have our shift light somewhere else. I can't see my shift light

no complaints about the interior, I think it looks good, feels good, and works good. I like the seats.

I still dont understand the whole interior too much plastic.

what should they use? leather? wood? real metal? right. I like plastic, its a great material and is great for strength/weight/cost. and even better, the plastic is molded and tinted for good looking texture.

I think they should use like a metal trim. Maybe even color match the car on the Interior. And even some smooth plastic or rubber on the doors. I dont really like the texture on the doors. Or the fact that they dont have any real contours. But the doors are minor, they dont really bug me.

I woul love to see your "dealer installed leather." Can you post a picture? And if you don't mind me asking, how expensive were they?

Thanks.

Default It's fine...

It is very stylish and functional, that’s all I want in a “sports car”. I got the enthusiast model because I did not want/need luxury items (i.e. Leather, Bose, NAV), if anything it is a little too stylish. Sports cars SHOULD just be functional. I like my cloth seats & the "plain" black interior.

k2we is right, you should see the interior of the original Z and if you ever get the chance check out the interiors of Porsches, Triumphs, & MGs of 30 years ago. If you want more “luxury” go for the G35 coupe.

And I also love the ride that many people think is “too rough”. This is a sports car folks, in the truest definition.

I love my Z.

Black '04 Touring Roadster, power leather seats, etc. I'm 6'-3", 200 lbs., and have a bad back, but this interior is great. It's WAAY better than the three Porsche 911's I had before it in adjustability alone.

Plenty of room for the long guys, great headroom, OK ergonomics, minor annoyances like cupholders, but the bottom line - if you want a performance 2-seater that really performs and doesn't kill you in the process, the Z is it. The seats seem get better with usage.

I love the interior. I'm 6'3" 250lbs annd fit perfectly.

The dash is sporty and functional. Persoanlly, I dont understand where the "cheap dash" comments come from. Mybuddy's $120K 911 C4cab has a very similarly spartan/purposeful interior - granted its covered in leather - but still looks simple (like the Z).

The interior plastics are very easyto clean BTW. The door plastics are my fav part - that rubbery material is cool. Simply wipe down with a wet rag - thats it!

Personally, I love my Silverstone touring Z 6MT and wouldnt change a thing (and wont)

Sure, I'll try to figure out the new digital camera and then how to load up the pics, if anyone has any suggestions as to how I could do this, that would be a great help, (The loading up part, not the camera;-), But, the leather cost me an extra 800 bucks, but thats also because I bought the car from an old highschool buddy who just hapened to be a salesman at the dealership. I got a great deal on my car. I got a 2003 350Z Enthusiast w/ Burnt Orange leather, trunk mat, floor mats, 'mudflaps', free handwashes and waxing with each scheduled oil-change and a case of that detailing stuff the dealers use for 27,900. By the way, the car was delivered with 6 miles on the odometer and the little plastic wrap still on the aluminum pedals :-)

I am happy with the interior as well. My major complaint has the lack of an armrest, which I solved. Oh yeah, the door panel material is a pain to clean. I am thinking of covering them in leather to match the seats..but who knows....

I've got the orange leather and after a year it's showing considerable wear on the drivers seat. It's a daily driver, but the seats in my 94 Altima are holding up better than the Z's. The leather is starting to wear from sliding in and out of the seat and the seatbelt has left a black smudge on the shoulder of the seat. Other than that, I'm happy with the interior. I did have to move the heated seat switches over b/c I kept hitting it with my elbow.

It's easy. Once you have hooked up your camera to your computer (or used a media card reader hooked to your computer), just copy the photos to your harddrive. At this point, if you shot them at a high-resolution, you will have to reduce the size of them. I do this in Photoshop. Since I doubt you have Photoshop, I would either use the software that came with the camera, or simply shoot the pictures in low-res.

Once they are on your harddrive in low-res, prepare a message on this board like normal. At the bottom of the page, on the "Attach file" line, click on "Browse." You will be given the opportunity to locate and select the picture you want to attach. That's it.

That is probably more than you wanted, but I thought I may as well cover the bases.

I love the style of the interior. Most of the egonomics are excellent. The controls are very well laid out and easy to use without distracting from the drive. Mine has a few rattles, so that's annoying, and the front cupholder is a piece of poo, and my drivers seat could use some better lower back support, but other than that it's very good.
