carbon roof overlay
Ok so after workin under the hood I forgot to latch down all the way...I know idiot...so while driving hood flies up and dents the f outa my roof. Iv gotten all the big dents out but roof still looks wavey...my question is will the carbon roof overlay covver the roof as a new hard piece or is it just a sticker that sticks to the roof exactly?

The Asuka roof overlay is $720, but you can get a factory roof panel for a lot less ($300) plus a couple hundred to paint and fit:

(click on part #73111 for price)
Unless the carbon look is what you are going for.......
EDIT>>>>
Nevermind, it would probably be a lot more in labor to fit than a couple hundred bucks.

We have the Asuka Double Humps and the OEM roof caps.
The double Hump attaches with screws under the Pillars. It doesn't need to be epoxied or double sided taped. It is recommended you double sided tape it for extra precaution but it does mount up and is held secure with some screw mounting points. I can take a picture Friday when we install one here at the shop.

yea so as an ase/icar certified collision tech. ill let you know that replacing the roof skin(factory)is going to run anywere from 1500@an economy shop to 2500 at a real collision shop .its alot of work remove the headliner and all surrounding electronics, the hatch all the a pillar and roof trim front glass and the drill the spot welds prep and weld the new skin ,seam seal, prep and paint......reassemble then theres the part about protecting the rest of the interior, metal prep, corrosion protection bodyfiller if your a crappy tech ....
before getting this done do research and remember you get what you pay for...... and if its not done properly WILL result in leaks and rust in as little as 6months if you live in the northern states...

^^^ sounds about dead on with what needs to be done. No way this job would be less then $1500 at LEAST. Its mostly the Labor Costs.
We actually have a Porsche 911 here at the shop that was featured for HIN and Magazines,
Some of you may know it, its from Iforged, its Green and has some crazy parts with a good sized spoiler in the back its all hooked up but his Kevlar hood came up on the freeway.... wasn't running hood pins and his roof got dented as well and windshield was cracked up pretty bad.
^^^ that one... I guess I did have a pic of it.

OP, if you look into cf overlay, I would recommend Asuka cf roof cap or Mastergrade(as much as i don't like doing business with them), as your most reliable source of quality cf roof caps. You might also want to look into Top Secret or Sunline Racing if you are a JDM Junkie. Other than these, I wouldn't even think twice about going with other brands..

Fyi if u get a roof overlay, i had a mastergrade and i didnt get the right 3m mounting tape and mine flew off on the freeway lol and an 18 wheeler ran it over, so make sure to get the right mounting tape and secure it down good!!!!
