Default Airbag sensor

HEy all, got me a problem. I got sideswipped about 2 weeks ago and got my car painted. My problem is that ever since i picked it up from the shop the airbag sensor has been blinking..... the guy at the shop says they never touched anything related to the airbag so they are not responsible for it...... what could this be? They took off the rear bumber so im thinking maybe a sensor there or something? i have a base z so no curtains..... im out of ideas what do i do? I dont want ot go to stealership and pay $1000000 for a diagnostic scan

Was this fixed under your insurance policy? If so call them and tell them the problem. I would think if your car got damaged the adjuster should be able to be reached and this problem should be covered as well as external damage.

But if you didn't have insurance and you can prove it (sensor) is in the bumper, take it back to the shop and tell them they need to fix it.

I did the repair privately because the damage was not to great and it was a hit and run so my premium would have gone up if i would have gone through insurance. I went to the shop and told them the problem and they say that they didnt touch anythign relating to the airbags so they are having nothing to do with it...
