Default What to do to my center console?

Looking for opinions here.

I got tired of the look of Neffy Wrap on my center console, a-pillars, and door armrests... so I've decided to peel it all off. Originally, I used the stuff to cover up scuffs and scratches on the center console, but now I'm sick of the inevitable peeling, bubbling, etc.

The question is, how should I refinish it?

Should I sand it flat and use a satin silver? Satin black?

I've ruled out gloss, as I don't want the cheap look and I don't want gloss.

Any ideas?

Maybe I'll just look through the classifieds to bring it back to stock.

You have ss, right? Black interior i presume.

Is there any way to make the console have the same brushed aluminum look as the steering wheel panels/doorhandles/etc accents? Ive always thought that would look great.

Either that, or a gloss black on the center console/door control panels with your flat black interior would look dope.

I think satin black would look awesome and really unique. I've seen a lot of glossy painted consoles so it would be different.

It would definitely make the interior look much better.

I would love to do brushed aluminum, but the only good way to do that is to buy a real, formed brushed aluminum cover. If I could buy a sheet of it somewhere, I could form it myself, but I'm sure it'd be pricey.

Searching for this brought me upon some glossy silver done consoles. Not a big fan of those. IMO, glossy paint on the interior is cheapish, as is this fabric.

Glue residue everywhere.

I think this too, but the thing is... satin darker silver or satin black.

Give me a few minutes to grab some pics and ill see if I can PS something real fast.

Are you talking about the center piece from the gauges to just the shifter or the whole thing?

I was about to do that as well. From the triple gauges down to the shifter. Also the door armrests.

F U Ray

I think I'm gonna sand it smooth and go with Krylon semi-flat black. Thoughts?

BUT

the grill stuff on this is painted matte silver.

I am thinking about leather wrapping the interior, maybe a suede headliner and some suede inserts on the door

Satin black might look pretty cool. Just don't do silver!!! I think it's cheesy when the center console matches the outside of the car

I vote satin black or back to stock!

Wow satin black look really nice actually!! I bet it scratches easily though, you'll have to be careful.

I'll be using the satin clear over it to give it that semi-flat sheen, so hopefully it won't scratch THAT easy. Also, nothing ever touches the console in my experiences.

Brb, running to walmart for paint

Krylon Fusion it is!!

Silver looked exactly like stock in the picture.. Not worth posting. Good luck with the paint job though.

I still got the .psd in case anyone wants to know what some crazy color would look like.
