I would want to know more info. Ask specifics on Paint brand, check out their paint booth. If it looks old and dirty inside you better believe your car is going to have a lot of imperfections in it. How long has the painter been spraying cars? Ask to see someone elses car he sprayed.

For $850, are they spraying the underside of the hood and back hatch? are the doors coming off to get the bottom of the doors and jambs?

We had a paint and collision shop for 15 years. If a deal is too good to be true...

A good paint job is in the thousands not hundreds... but this could be the exception. I would say 3k-5k is the average for a desent job.

Remember you have to look and/or drive this thing everyday.

Good luck

I would be a little worried especially since you don't have much money. What happens if during the whole ordeal they raise the price? What happens if they mess it all up? Without any money to fix it you'll be stuck. Definitely get it in writing so they can't raise the price.

Interesting responses. Anyhow, I am not getting it done. The price was just good and any one would of contemplated it.

Thank you GlobalScan, your comment was very insightful and help me decide against it after browsing around and asking a few questions.

ouch!..but I kinda agree.

To OP though, I would suggest getting quotes from other shops and asking what they charge for labor an hour and what the paint is going to cost.

Painting a whole car as got to take at least 40 hours of actual work. At that price your getting labor for a little more then $20/hour....thats a 4th or 5th what It normall should be. The cost of the paint is gonna be ridiculous as well. If its the same paint used on Ferraris.
