Default 06-08 headlight black housing pic request and paint type

hello

i am going to be painting my 06 headlights black soon but i am not sure which finish i like the best.

Can you guys post a few pics of your headlights, (close ones if you can) also let me know if you used

-Flat black
-Satin Black
-Semi gloss
-Gloss black

did you or do you need to use high heat paint?

sanded them, yes or no

primer, yes or no

what did you use to seal them with?

i have mine in flat black. Can't tell you the rest of the info because i didn't do it myself.

If you get some Krylon Fuzion you shouldnt need to prep since its made for plastics.

Satin Black
Krylon Fuzion
No prep
Added halo, and sti lens also.
Use black silicone to seal.

Dont have any real close pics. But satin and flat are very close. Satin is just a tad more glossy.

No peeling or flaking of any kind. Had them about 6 months or so I guess.

and get a chrome bulb to replace the orange turn signals, it looks great.

"TheOtherRob"... they look great!!!! how hard was the halo to do... and where did you purchase it.... i'm afraid of getting some cheap ebay stuff when i order it and having to replace it a couple months down the road... Thanks!!

^ Halo was not very hard. I bought the same halos that Lightworkz uses, not sure of the name but there is a write up on their forum where to get them.

I opened the lights a few days ago, painting them this weekend..

I bought the krylon but I want to make sure I don't need high heat paint.

Mine are still perfect, no high heat paint used on mine. I used the one made to stick to plastics.
