Default Vented Hoods + CAI = water ingestion?

Just wanted to ask the ones who have this setup if they have heard of any problems with driving in the rain or parking in the rain and having rainwater run onto their CAI's. i'm thinking about getting a vented hood and don't want to spend the money only to spend more money to fix a water ingestion problem...

or am i being overanalytical...

mods: wasn't sure which forum to post this in since it deals with both, but since the question is about the hood i posted here.

cold airs place the filter in the bumper or fender area - has nothing to do with the hood

that being said, unless you drive underwater, it should be just fine

OP you should be fine with that hood as long as you dont park outside.

As long as your moving, most of the rain will not get inside your engine bay

If you put holes in the hood of course water will get into the engine bay.

not sure if its still the case, but they wouldn't let the hoods close with them installed...so they were useless

Why don't you try one of these filter wraps http://www.carpartswholesale.com/bra...lter_wrap.html Says its treated to repel water. I'm not sure what size you need, but just to give you some options. Only thing is that you may just have to pull over and wrap them once you start getting some rain. Then remove them once it stops.

A layer of protective Saran wrap over the hood should do the trick...
