Default plug located in the front bumper...

hey guys...

this is probably a SUPER SUPER noob question...but what is the electric plug that is located in the front bumper behind the grille?

I don't recall my previous(older) cars having those...

my car battery died last night, I got a new battery in this morning, so while i was replacing the battery, I remembered that plug, just wondering what it is for...

I tried searching many different words for it, all I kept getting were either "plug in electric cars" or bumper plugs for the license plate holes lol

if your thinking below the hood latch it is part of the alarm system/door open sensor. Your car wont beep if it is open signifing there is an open door/hood/trunk. Your alarm SHOULD go off if it is tripped.

it's in the bumper grill, under the licence plate, it's a plug, three prong plug...if it was long enough I could plug it into an outlet in my house...or use an extension cord...I've seen alot of recent cars with them...my cousin's TSX also has it...I'll go out and take a pic soon I guess if nobody figures it out haha

I'm going to go with block heater on this one. OP lives in Canada, and maybe that is included in their models.

Its a engine block heater, great for when its really cold out. It keeps your fluids from freezing so your car will start in the morning. Go to Alaska, every car has them. There are also outlets placed next to every parking spot so you can plug in!

Your fluids shouldn't be freezing in the first place... unless you're stupid and don't know how to read the manual.
