Default Halo mod

Hey guys, trying to do the halo mod right now. I don't want to dremel the inside of the halo to fit onto the lens shroud. I want to use sandpaper. FYI I don't know anything about sandpaper's grit level. What kind would be strong or rough enough to allow me to shave off the inside of the halo? Want to sand it down about a millimeter or two.

hey stevehl, what make of halo are you installing? what year are your headlights? i'm thinking about doing the same thing, but wanted more info before i take the plunge. my headlights are the ones on the 2005 anniversary model. are you painting the inside of your lights while you have them apart? this might be a **** question, but does the halo come on as a daytime running light or does it replace the night time headlight beam?
