Found a small (1") tear in one of my leather seats.

I did some searching here and through google. Found that I could possibly patch it with another piece of leather, and use some sort of glue and filler? Seemed like I could make a mess out of the small hole if I didnt know what I was doing. I didnt really find any threads here about it.

Has anyone tried repairing a hole? How hard is it?
How much does it typically cost to have a hole repaired?
Should I just start saving for some new cool seats?
Last option that crossed my mind, have them re-done in black leather...

ultimatly if I could find a DIY fix for cheap (and effective), that would be great.

Yea, I will probably do that. Just have to save up the cash.

In the mean time, anyone have any repair suggestions? I imagine it will just grow and grow if I do nothing.

I have Touring Model too and can see the inside driver's bolster getting to that point at some time as it does show wear. Hope this helps and let me know if it works or what you find out.

 

I was so hyped about having black leather interior. They crack and they scratch. And when its hot your skin gets roasted over an open flame. The only reason why I want to keep them is because there heated and automatic.

 

Yup, inside drivers bolster is exactly where it is. I think my belt caught on the worn bolster and pop! I remember the pop when I got out.
Thanks for the links, I will check them out a little later. I did do some searching on google. Most of the repair stuff I found was a patch and glue kinda thing. I will let you know what I think.

Yea, thats the only reason I want to keep them, but not a large concern of mine really. Hmm, yea, maybe I wont redo the leather... I think that option is out now.
