In my opinion I don't like the lights but again your car your money. I would have personally put $3K into wheels, body kit, and of course the engine. If it makes you happy enjoy. On the taking off the badge… PLEASE PLEASE do not put something else than what your car is.

Personally I would be highly embarrassed if I pulled up to a busy intersection with my car pimped out with lights and people saw me, but thats my own opinion.

And for the record I really wasn't really referring to the headlight mods or interior led mods to match gauges. But stuff like doorhandle leds (LOLLERSKATEZCMONREALLY?!), front bumper reflector leds (ROFLRUSERIOUS?!), side z marker leds, interior sideskirt leds, etc...

I wasn't referring to anyone specifically either so if your offended you obviously did something like light up your car and are seeking words of approval to justify it? Well as a litmus test post pics of your car lights in the FI forums and if the regulars(usually the old schoolers) there laugh at/insult/flame you-(which sure as you were born, will happen)... something's probably not right about it?

Anyway I like the cincity headlight mods on the 06+ lights to an extent...would i spend close to $3k on them? No, I personally couldn't justify it as that money could be spent better on performance parts for the car.

Just a bit of HP also done, maybe you've seen my 100+ page build thread. Car is being rebuilt now after a failure, but I put down a max of 669whp on a DD dyno, so maybe the money on lights wasn't a total waste IMO, but to each his own.

I kept the max # at the tuned # of 643whp:

I guess you are referring to my mod on my led jdm front bumper. I did it for the fun of it. Fyi I already had body kit on my car and rim done I guess I run out of thing to put on so I try something different it did not cost me 3k only $140 which is pretty fair I think. Like you I post my z on the forum which I expected to have negative comments and positive. I don't recall I was flame but maybe I miss it.

No I haven't actually I'm pretty new to the forum and I have only had my Z for about 9 months. But like you said "to each his own" with that kind of power that you are putting down I assume $3k on lights is not a big deal for you at all. Well like I said before enjoy and I hope those lights are what you wanted.

For the guy who wasted 3k on making his car ny times square x-mas tree, you fail. I'm going to have to agree with the OP bc ppl are doing some pretty ricey stuff with lights. I don't mind when their blacked out but all these crazy led's everywhere is overkill on some cars.

i think things like LED lights in the dash and gauges are awesome, and same for interior dome lights. the fact that LEDs are so mass produced and extremely cheap makes me wonder why almost any car that cost more than 20K new doesnt have them. LEDs are so cheap on ebay with great quality; imagine if nissan or honda or toyota bought them en masse in ridiculous quanities. it'd cost them 3 dollars more per car to produce, and they could probably get away with charging 250 dollars for an 'LED upgrade package' option. i dont understand why all cars dont have them to be honest

Wow, this is the first person I've seen to hate on CCFL sidemarkers, like mine. Unless he was specifically talking about the LEDs only. Cause my CCFL sidemarkers get a craaaazy amount of attention, stares, and compliments every day. I'd say almost too many compliments.

In it's helpful feedback, maybe. But for each positive post there are 10 negative haters/trolls/jackasses who have nothing better to do than get online and bash people they don't even know.

Funny thing is... the newcomers, the people assumed to be younger and less mature from vague analysis, aren't the ones trolling. They are the ones requesting feedback, albeit redundantly since most of the information is out there, and immediately get attacked because the my350z cliques want to flex some blind authority.

It's ridiculous. But, since I hate haters, I guess I'm no different. A lot of useful information comes from them regardless. The good comes with the bad.

Back to topic... I personally don't like LED mods unless it enhances a feature. They otherwise look tacky and cheap. I prefer most of the car's characteristics to remain stock, with exception of the red-eye mod.

We should start a club guys. The "We don't have many posts and we just joined this year but we think it'd be nice if everyone could get along and not be a d**k," club.

But seriously. The orange cockpit glow of the stock Z is one of the most annoying things about the car to me- I have every intention of changing everything over to Ice Blue per the Interior LED mod thread. Didn't most manufacturers declare Orange a dead color back in the 80s?

And I couldn't disagree more with the comment about LEDs being the new Neon. It isn't even CLOSE to the same thing. MAYbe the exterior door handle led mod. MAYbe.
