Default Passenger Side Door Issue - Won't open

Due to an interesting sequence of events, my passenger side door will not open.

While working on a stereo project I managed to damage (or maybe just a bent pin / contact) the connector for the power door lock. Not a big problem, I figured I'll just pull the connecter out later and inspect, find and fix the bent or damaged pin.

While wrapping up the passenger side, I must have forgotten to connect the cables that connect the interior handle to the mechanism, the manual lock button feels jammed and wont work and the interior door opening handle doesnt work.

The exterior handle doesnt work either, just flops with no action, feels like it's locked...

I can't open the door to pull the interior panel off and the remote won't unlock the door because of the problem in the connector....

Power window works fine so at least the car is secure.

Do I need to call AAA and get a slim jim in there?

Thats a tuff one. did you try taking the neg battery terminal off in order to reset everything not sure if that would work. What about moving the door lock as far as you can while pulling the handle. Prob will have to slim jim it but I think its gonna be the same problem as having to force the mechanism open same as the manual door lock.

im all like

well you could pull....no that wont work

all you have to do is.... nope....

Just......um .. nope

im puzzled. I was all in that door yesterday and i can't think of anything.

Hopefully a slim jim will work.

Are you sure it is the lock mechinizim that is broke and not the opening part?
If that is the possibility, little latch you can puch down about an inch infront of the handle inside the door.

wait... i may have something... Under your inside door latch, open it, pop of that piece of plastic shaped like a 3 finger hand. Think there is a screw. Maybe you can get into something to do with the lock. Thats where the cables lead to i think. That is about as far into the door as you can get.

I hope this help. It all from my memory of a aggravated and pissed off moment.

Thanks. I will see what I can do behind that little 3 finger dealy. I don't expect much. Funny thing is that this morning, I'm parking at LAX long term parking on my way out of town.
I was a little behind schedule, kind of in a hurry and the dam driver's side window would not come up! I figure I must have screwed up the connectors on that side as well.

The p side would come down but not go up... I figure, hell with it, I will go home and call the airline on the way. I didnt have trip insurance but since it was through the agency we use at work, maybe get a flight tomorow so I can fix all this today.

I get on the freeway and try it again and it starts working... back to parking I go and make my flight no problem.

I have an extra under dash wiring harness so I figure to chop the connectors off that, maybe find used door harness connectors and rebuild everything.

I think I was too sloppy with the drill when reaming out the molex connectors. I think next time I will use a dremel or something more precise

i have done a share of mechanical work but those door internals are just crazily built.

i.e the reason i was aggravated

Good luck

MAKE SURE THAT THE FRONT PART OF THE WINDOW IS ON TRACK. THE PART YOU CANT SEE WITHOUT LOOKIN DOWN.... OR YOU WILL END UP WITH A MAJORLY FCKD TINT!

i.e. the reason i was pissed

I can't get to the bolts, accessed through the inside door panel, that hold it on.

I cant get to them from inside because they line up with where the door closes, past the interior trim panel.

Its kinda like a puzzle now.
