Default Worn Cloth Seat bolster

I know that others are having the same problem, but my '06 Z is showing worn fabric on the driver's seat bolsters. (Naturally, I am out of warranty.)

My car is in perfect shape except for this item, and it is driving me nuts.

How can I dye or treat the fabric so that it looks better than it is now...has anyone out there done something about this that worked.

Yes, I looked on the forum for some info, but could not find anything about it.

Thanks for any help that you can give.

The black threads are abraded which makes then look white.

There are a number of commercial dyes on the market, but most are unsuitable. Any dark fabric dye requires a boiling dip to retain color. This would be cumbersome for the cover.

A wipe-on dye is temporary and will rub color. If you get in the car with a tan suit for example, you will never get the black dye out of the suit.

That's what I was afraid of.

If they had used the quality black yarn, this problem could have been lessened, but Nissan took the cheap way out.

I have only 20K on the car, and the bolsters look like they have 120K.

Thanks for the reponse.
