Default People with ARC titan Shift **** Help Please

I just recently purchased one from a member here on the boards.

I went to install it yesterday but the threads on the **** are way too big for my shifter. I know my shifter is stock because my OEM and Nismo **** fit perfectly fine.

People who own this ****, can you do me a favor and take pics of the inside of the ****? Specifically the threads.

Here are pics of my nismo and the ARC I just purchased. Both shift ***** have the same opening of 1.5cm, but you can see in the nismo right on top of the screw it narrows down for the threads. The ARC does narrow down at the very tip of the ****, but there are no threads.

Yes, I talked to the seller and he says it is for a 350z. He said he installed it with no problems, which boggles my mind

And I am not mechanically challenged, lol, I've installed many other things on my car that are a lot more time consuming.

So whoever, has an ARC **** please take time to unscrew it and take a couple pics for me. It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to my350z.

I had an ARC shift ****. Did you buy the ball with a seperate neck or the eggplant one?

I had the ball and neck shift **** and that is tapped specifically for a Z. You may have gotten a honda ****, which uses a different thread pattern.

Looks like "10 TIL 4" was the seller.

The seller was 10 til 4, he is known in the Mid-A, and I would have no reason to believe that he would sell me a **** that was not for a Z.

In no way am I trying to say 10 til 4 is trying to screw me over or anything along those lines.

I talked to him via PM, and he said the **** installed on his car with no problems whatsoever. I'm just trying to get this beauty installed on my car.

Thanks for the help, mainly looking for pics from other owners.

all ARC ***** seem to be this way now. They drill a large hole into it, and that white plastic insert is actually your threads...

trust me, install it, it'll work.
the threaded portion that will screw onto your stick lever is at the top of the ****.....

nothing really crazy about it

Well I guess that's why my ARC isn't fitting? Because it doesn't have the white plastic insert?

Peter,
Hey it's Randy. Sorry I don't come on the forum that often any more so I just now got your PM's. This is a genuine ARC shift **** purchased through Performance Nissan and was the 2nd ARC shift **** I've had installed on my 2007 350z. I never really took any pictures of it installed on my Z but many local owners can vouch that they saw it installed.

Feel free to PM NIZZZMO (Mike) as he was looking to buy it from me before it sold and he actually sat in the car with it.

The shift **** does not ship with any adapter, just the **** itself and I had no problems installing it in place of my factory shift ****. I hope you find a resolution to this.

Thanks

Randy

The ARC should have a white threaded piece of plastic on the underside that is specially made for each car make. This is done to reduce production cost. You will need that white piece from ARC for Nissan. What I think happened is when someone removed the ****, the white piece was left stuck on the shifter.

*NOTE You can see the little white part in this pic*

This ended up being a problem on my end on when I removed the shift **** from my Z. I removed it from my vehicle and the white threaded piece ended up sticking to the factory threaded shifter so the **** was removed and the white piece stayed on.

Being that the shift **** ships in 1 PIECE i didn't bother to notice the threaded insert remaining on my shifter. And being that my Z sits in my garage, I didn't even bother putting my OEM shift **** on yet as I had not drove it in a couple weeks.

I contacted Peter already and have since shipped this threaded insert to him. Again, sorry for the confusion man.

Randy
