Not something you never want to see... it was on my hands... it reminded me of the color of the 370 blue...
Long story short, a guy at work was parked way over the white line. I was a dumbass and didnt check. I backed into my spot and heard the wonderful heart sinking crunch sound... damn... and I was just thinking, "its beautiful outside today" 5 seconds ago
to my surprise, the piece of Taurus station wagon that I hit took most of the damage. I was glad the Z only had a small paint scrape, but irritated of the thought of all the hassle ahead. I went back and forth looking at the damage to the cars. Mine has some paint scraped off of the top corner of the bumper and the bottom edge of the right rear quarter panel. I expected worse... The Ford, wow. A six inch crease down his rear right door, outlined in a pretty opaque 370z blue color. I touched the paint powers...now the blood of the Z are on thy hands... I weep...
Hah, no, but I head in, call the person that handles parking lot security, and track down Mr. Station Wagon. Show him the custom door I made for him, for absolutely free I may add... He just wants to talk about sports cars at this point. So we chat for a bit, he says no worries. Ok, so now time to fix Z-car.
I will post a pic soon. Its not bad at all. My brother does custom painting, he asked me if it was a two or three step paint process. I dont know much about paint, but were trying to estimate the cost and decide if its worth filing a claim. I doubt it is, but he is thinking the paint is a more complex type of paint. Any thoughts? Lets say the fender and the bumper need resprayed, estimated costs? No dents at all.
