Default still deciding if this is tacky

im picking up a "new-to-me" 05 350z on friday. i really like the hoods on the 07-08's and wanted peoples opinions about whether or not it would be tacky to put an 07 or 08 hood on an 05 z? i dont even know if it would fit or if it would be easy to get but just wanted some experienced advice and opinions.

i did use to own an 03 but that was 4 years ago so ive been out of the loop for a while BUT im VERY excited to be getting back in a z!!

It will fit and it doesn't look tacky but to me personally, I would designate that few hundred bucks or so to another mod that makes a bigger difference, either visually or performance-wise.

+1 They're different, but not THAT much different. I'm going to have to side with Galvatron here and recommend that you put that ash to better use, whether it be for aesthetics or performance.

People say tacky, others will say that it would be misleading because people will say it looks like a HR but doesn't perform like one, yada yada yada... Yet, people put 06+ heads & tails on their 03-05's... Wouldn't that be misleading into making people think it's a newer Z? This question has been asked before time and time again on here... IMO, it's all about how YOU feel the car is gonna look like... Even I pondered about putting that hood on my car, but just like other people said, you could spend that ammount of cash on other mods and get better results... Think about how much you are going to spend...

Hood=$xxx?
Paint=$xxx?
Installation=$xxx?

Try to figure the grand total out and then think about how many mods you can do with that $... GL

I dont think it would look tacky at all. As already stated, people do light conversions all the time. Maybe the OP prefers an OEM look but likes the 07-08 hoods better and doesn't plan to do a whole lot of aftermarket exterior. Do what you like

kinda like slappin an M3 badge on a 328i. The biggest give away that it's an HR is the whale hump hood.

imo, tacky.

the only people that will know that it doesnt belong on there are 350z ethusiasts. I say do it if you like it. The same as someone putting an aftermarket hood on their Z. The only difference is at least you know it wont look like ***.

Though you could spend the money on mods instead of another OEM hood.

For the price of the hood plus paint, I'd rather get an exhaust.. but that's just me.
