Default Insurance payment!

This guy backed into my z today coming out of a eye doctor office. His insurance is state farm. I was just wondering if they would send me a check for the amount of damage done to the body after I get quotes? The rear drivers side quarterpanel, top of the rear bumper and my wheels were messed up.

you would have to call his insurance, take it to one of state farms approved bodyshop and they would give u an estimate and they should cut you a check right then and there, and if you wanna keep it and blow it on hoes or get it fixed would be up to you

They don't cut checks anymore. Payment goes straight to the body shop.

1. The insurance company must admit fault.

2. State laws vary but you do not have to collect estimates. The shop is your choice. The shop will bill State Farm. State Farm will give you a rental while your car is being fixed.

Why not contact your insurance company and ask? You do pay insurance correct?

Usually, well at least here in utah, they will only cut you a check if you own the car. I have had two people hit me in both my previous vehicles and one i owned they cut me a check for it, the other one i didnt they paid the shop directly. Either way worked for me since I got to pick the body shop, I went to a family friends and he quoted me on the most expensive stock parts he could find and let me order whatever I wanted. I ended up getting alot more out of the wreck then I ever thought i would

Car isn't recked just some minor paint chips, paint transfer and dents. But still don't want blemishes. Car was clean up until the guy backed into it. Honestly, pics aren't going to do much.
Just wouldn't mind fixing the paint and using the money for the wheels, if state farm cuts me a check for them, and buy some suspension parts or 4.08 gear and a 1.5 way

I just went through a insurance claim with state farm, I took it to a shop, I told them I would take it to my own shop of choice. They send an adjuster out and then they will talk it over with the body shop. When an agreement is made about payment, they will cut a check to the Person OR the body shop. You must tell them on the phone that you want the check made out to YOU. You can either have them leave it with the shop or have them Mail it to your residence.

You had options... their is a way around the whole thing, but I don't feel as though I should post something like this on a forum. I'll be happy to PM you in anyone has any questions regarding insurance claims.
