Window scratches....?
Hey guys. Ok so I've noticed something really odd about my driver's side window on my 350. Every time I roll the window all the way down, and back up, I get a nasty smear mark on the window (from the inside, not outside). It feels like it's some kind of grease or something, I have no idea what it is! So I'm going to open up the door panel and check out what the hell is smearing my window.
But here's something else I'm concerned about and can't quite figure out either. I took my car to my mechanic to fix my rear axel noise (yes I have an 03 with 60k miles and it began to make the ticking noise reported on the TSB). The mechanics left my windows rolled down the whole time. When I got the car back today, I rolled the window up and noticed some pretty nasty scratch-like marks on the top of my window. I have never seen these before since I got the car. My windows are tinted and I've got a black car, so ANY white mark would have originally stood out. Basically, they weren't there before, and now they are. The mechanics aren't at fault, how would they know that my window is being scratched somehow? Anyway, the scratch marks are odd because I can't feel them. The window is perfectly smooth when I rub my nail on it gently to see if it's just some kind of dirt. But it won't come off. What's even more interesting is that it looks like you can see it from both sides (inside and out). I have 4 marks that are like this, and they're all just pure white. I can't feel them on neither side and they just bug the sh*t out of me. Maybe the tint is coming apart... I don't know, I mean if it was then I'd be able to feel it wouldn't I?! So frustrating. I'm going to redo the tint, and clean the actual window before applying the new tint and see if it solves my problem. But has anyone else ever come across something like this? I'll see if I can take pictures when I get the car back from the body shop (my mechanic returned the car to me...... with my passanger side bumper all scraped up with nasty paint chips
fkin people don't know how to drive I swear, so they're repainting my whole bumper
)

Yeah I have the same things on both windows. Ive replaced both window regulators AND both of the felt pads that come into contact with the glass...then I had it re-tinted. SAME effin problem STILL. Ive given up on it.

Umm, thanks, but I found nothing there about the scratches I'm talking about. And if you guys didn't notice, that's the bulk of my thread so
lol
But about the door grease thing, yeah I'm getting that looked at tomorrow from the dealership I bought the car from. They wont charge me yay. Since I know what to look for now, it won't take too long. HOWEVER.... All of them are suggesting removing the damn thing.... can't you just clean it and get rid of the grease? None of them asked that question
The grease thing can be dealt with, it's the new scratches that formed on the top of my window that's bothering me. Like I said... I'll post pictures when I can, when I open the door I'll see if I can find anything thats causing my windows to scratch (my guess being the rubber that the glass runs through as you roll the window up, whatever that thing is called!)
