headlight wiring.
I've done the search and I see it seems like it's impossible. but it's hard for me to believe, having built 11 FFR cars in the past that there is not a way to wire the old style halogen headlights 6 plug into the HID wiring harness 8 plug somehow? I bought a 05 track model that I will be using 75% track and some (i.e. testing) street use. My HID headlight housings are in rough shape (salvage car) and I would love to just throw some of those cheap $200 headlamps in it seeing the car may very well get damaged, especially if I go to Mt Tremblant again this coming season and forget that I am not in my 1998 Champcar anymore! I would think there has got to be a way. Has ANYONE done it?

I've looked through the wiring diagrams for a 2007 model. There are eight pins on the connectors (E24 and E40) going to the front combination light units, but it looks like only six of them are used. I can't find any function that uses pins 1 or 5. The other pin/functions are:
2 Turn signal
3 High beam solenoid (there's a separate 10-amp fuse in the IPDM for each side)
4 Ground
6 Parking and side marker
7 HID (there's a separate 15-amp fuse in the IPDM for each side)
8 Ground
It looks like the voltage coming from the IPDM at those pins should be 12 volts.
With that info, you should be able to make jumper assemblies to go between the wiring and the older combination light units.
The tough part will be making the jumper waterproof, if that's necessary.

Thanks, got them wired in. Only thing sad is that I cut the plugs off the expensive ones because I figured it was best to solder the wires in the headlamps and shrinkwrap them so as to us the 8 prong plug

Correction, all that work and they don't work! The one unit worked when I plugged it in and then after bolting it up and trying it again it was fine unitl I went to turn it off and everything went crazy! The headlights (I only installed the passenger side so far) won't turn off once they are turned on ????? Seems like something is just wrong! So I reinstalled the HID unit and will fix the other HID unit tomorrow.
