Buying CF from vendors?
Please advise what is the correct proceedure for accepting CF parts from shippers when buying from vendors.......
Story:
UPS delivered my CW side skirts today. I advised my Mother "as she was off and I am at work as I type without any more vacation for the year" to open and confirm if dmged. If dmged then sign dmged and then let the driver go so we can put a dmg report with UPS.
The driver got to the door my Mother explained this and the driver got an additude and left witout getting a signature or letting her open the package.
To say the least my Mother is now afraid to open it and its waiting for me to get home "I get off at 5pm EST".
Anyone know the correct proceedure or is this hole game set to screw the end client and save UPS from disgrunteled drivers.
Please post what you know and what has meen your experiance.

Did she sign for it??
You cant leave the fate of your cf in mom duke's hands, bud.
Its np, just check it when you get home and if damaged file a claim. You can do this whether you already signed for it or not.

I had a CF hood delivered by BAX global a few years ago. The box looked fine from the outside so, I just assumed that the contents were OK and I didn't open it. When I did open it, the hood was smashed. They must have stacked something very heavy on it during shipping. I simply called the vendor and they took care of it, filing the claim, etc. All I had to do was take some pictures as proof and email them.

ups / fedex / usps etc are all very stressed during this time of the year and they will be *******s when you try to check a package with them standing there.
they will be late, they will work OT etc, due to how many people do that.
I cut them some slack, my new monitor arrived and there was a gash in the box that made me nervous, but I figure I could still get it swapped if it was damaged in transit. took pictures before I opened it just in case it would help any. the monitor was fine either way

I've never had to file a damaged claim, but a friend of mine did with UPS. After he talked to them on the phone they asked him to send a picture of the damaged part. They sent someone over to take a look at the part in person after that and I believe they paid for the part to be repainted since that was all the damage that was on the wing he bought. I wouldn't worry about the signature thing too much since UPS leaves packages without getting sigs sometimes if they think the area is nice enough. They left my JIC ti in the back yard once. Also, as you read the replies, always remember that "haters gon hate".

Just because I had it shipped there does not mean I live with my mother. I have a GF 2 kids and pay for an appartment in Tampa. I have everything shipped to my mothers because it is in a nice place and not my aptmnts where people steal everything. I dont even park my Z there my aptments are that bad.

so he left it, without getting a signature, for an item that required a sig? Id totally:
claim it never arrived, get UPS to pay for it
sell the 'undelivered' package
??????
profit

Contacted the vendor and they reported the driver cuss it does require a sig. But all is well there is only a small chip in the frontdriver side hidded in the wheel well so all is well.
And to these that wish me to scam I would never. THere are to many that will not ship CF as is and dont want to add UPS to the list.

I did move out and live with my girl friend and two kids in Tampa. Thou my GF drives me crazy and rather live at my mothers till our lease is up.
No I live in a crappy part of Tampa so I ship to Pasco to keep the stuff on my door step when I get home from work.
