Sorry I should have been more specific...the cubby back off the side of the drivers seat is the one I want to take the lid off. The storage compartment with the big lid with the cup holders inside. Thanks
okay, then you need to follow that link still and remove only the part around the shifter....then from there pull up the coin tray.....then push seats all the way forward, there are screws in that center section behind the seats and then from there i believe you just pull it all out..

There are two screws in the very front of the center console that have to be removed as well as a couple of small "L" brackets.
In order to get the shifter finisher off, you will have to remove the shift ****, then pull up and back from under the rear edge of the lower finisher trim ring to pop off the finisher and lift it up and over the shifter.
Depending on the model year, you will have to disconnect the hazard light switch from either the lower finisher or the center console. Best practice on removing manual transmission shift **** is to use two pairs of pliers. One to hold the shifter steady and the other to turn the ****. Putting too much torque on the shifter can cause damage.
You can use rubber hose to protect both the shifter and the base of the **** or wrap both in several layers of electrical tape. Use medium size channel locks or vice grips.
Pull the E-Brake handle up as far as you can in order to get the console up over it.
