Default 04 seatbelt extenders on 03's?

Just wondering if anyone who's got a 2003 Z has had the new seatbelt extenders installed? Do they fit? Can you just order them from any Nissan dealer parts dept.? Can they just be installed right in place or is it a big deal?

I happened to see the new extenders in an 04 and they look like they really help to keep the seatbelt off your neck (and also keeps the seatbelt easy to reach).

Thanks in advance,

different type of extender. The 04 model's has this hook like thing at the top that lifts the seat belt about 2" towards the front. Helps keep it from rattling on the panel as well. I think it should fit the 03 model, but haven't seen any dealership selling it.

Default Seat Belt

I saw one at my dealer and immediatley ordered two. They fit near the outside upper corner of the seat so that the belt can be redirected.

Currently 03 has the belt coming from the pillar, which on a short guy like me has the belt cutting my neck. This new piece will hold the belt and have it come across to the seat and not the pillar. Should be much better.

Only thing is my dealer has no part number nor any other information on availablity. The way Nissan runs their parts it wont be availble until 2005. Maybe Jeff at Performance Nissane can get them, he seems to get everything.

LOL, when I first saw the title of this thread, I thought about this lady:

If that lady spent half the time she took to make that website excercising, she wouldn't need to worry about seatbelts! She does make a good point about pregnant women, but she looks like she ate a couple of pregnant women!

What blows my mind even more is the following:

1) She's so big that she won't be flung through the windshield (b/c she won't fit),
2) She's so big that there's no buffer-room on the side to protect her in the event of an impact
3) She should work means to lower the stress on her heart
4) She could buy a larger car (it is a free consumer market after all)
5) She could stop trying to make other consumers and society pay for her "glandular disability"
6) I could go on and on, but I've already thoroughly highjacked this thread...

Another person tried to get the 04 seatbelts for the 03 from the dealer. They said to put the 04 extenders on the 03 requires a whole new seatbelt assembly. Sounds kind of expensive. I'll try to do a search sometime and post the thread.

I called Nissan NA and here is the part number they gave me...

86848CD000

The guy said they would just connect to the existing seatbelt mount on the pillar. I haven't verified that with the dealership yet. I have an appointment this Friday. I'm going to get a close look at an 04 and then talk to the parts manager about it. I'll let you guys know.

Straight list is only $44.67 on that part number. And it is just the seat belt extender at the buckle.

that is the same Seatbelt extender on the G35c, I've check in on it awhile back, the whole seatbelt assembly invoice cost would be around $250 or so. so, the retail would be around $350 per side. that is a lot just for some seatbelt extender.

Jeff@performance.....Are you selling are these extenders available yet? Do they come with installation instructions, or does it have to be dealer install? I'll take two if they are for sale already.

Sorry, these are not available. They are sold attached to the seat belt assy and are not a servicable part. The part number (86848-CD000) that is mentioned above is a seat belt extender that goe's into the buckle at your hip. It's used for car seats and people that require a longer belt.

Just an FYI: I waited a week for NNA to get back to me w/ the part # and all they could offer was, "Maybe you should speak to the dealer, I can't find the part #." The dealer was just as clueless.
