Default Found cheap replacements for rear hatch struts

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Rea...item4cecb8a41d

Anyone have them? They seem like a good deal compared to the $150+ from some vendors here.

I see no mention of higher weight support or anything... might as well buy the more expensive ones.

my nismo wing added some weight, I need something that can support it.

huh - they are saying the product may be silver or black and it's out of their control.

wonder if it's the same company as the struts from this forum - I believe that was the same scenario.

Just buy the OEM ones. Also there is a 10lb weight attached to the inside of the hatch, remove that first and decide if you still need the new struts.

I did the penny mod, it helped pop the trunk so i dont have to double click and pry my fingers in.

Its just the cold weather, the shocks are just dead regardless of that 10lb weight, which i plan to remove anyways.

Feedback rating looks pretty good though, 100% and over 23,000 transactions.

Its nowhere close to 10 lbs. More like 2 lbs if that.

Nope, not the same

The original ones we used were all polished, but most people requested more of an OEM look, so we went back to use the black cased versions. It was not accidental, it was intentional

The ones we offer offer 40% more strength vs stock, and about 25% more than the ones found on the NISMO. Or we have ones that are lighter than stock, geared towards those with carbon or frp hatches.

Ours also includes all new factory Nissan hardware, whereas theirs is using a self done type bracket and generic bolts.

So, they really are 2 totally different types of kits with different types of components, just depends what the person wants

Where is this 10 or 2 lb weight located in the hatch?

thanks for clarifying, Adam.

Jake, the install on that link is a bit much for me, I don't really want to saw off a bracket.

going to try the weight removal, if not, ordering z1's kit.

You never know what you will get with the hatch supports depot from that ebay link. And I called them and emailed them a few times trying to figure what they offered and the salesman couldn't clarify if the ends were stainless, plastic, or plastic with a stainless band, even after he claimed to retrieve a set from the warehouse.
