Default how can i put some rainbow glossy look on headlight?

I got an accident last year and my car went to bodyshop.
After the bodywork my 350z headlights were very clean and glossy.
And somewhat like faint rainbow color on headlight made me happy.
But after I rubbed headlight with headlight cleaner that glossy look has gone.
I am just wondering how can I get back that rainbow glossy look on headlight.
I attached picture of gallardo so that you guys can understand what I am talking about. Thank you!

I would think putting wax on the headlight and buffing it would cause it to give off the rainbow affect.

look at the light at dawn or dusk only, with you at eye level with the light, and you'll see it

it's not anything other than light refraction - there is no coating

I wet sanded my headlights recently. I followed it up with spraying the lights with 3 coats of urethane clear coat to keep them from ever yellowing again. Since then, I constantly see the rainbow effect on them. But as previously stated, how often you see the effect depends on the time of day and cloud cover.

If you watch the movie "Beaches" it should do the trick for you.

Incorrect.

Actually, there is a clearcoat on both the exterior and interior of the headlight lenses.

The color you see however, is more visible when the clearcoat is new and lessens when the headlights dull. If you take photos of the headlight with a polarizing filter you will see that same rainbow effect.

If he cleaned the headlights with an aggressive cleaner or a shop detailed the car, there is a good chance they removed the upper clearcoat - its very thin and doesnt last long.

chances are that picture was taken with a camera that had a polarized filter on the front of the lens. It really exaggerates that rainbow effect
