It looks like the door was made to go with a different rocker panel.

Was there an earlier Japanese version that didn't have the wide tires and bulging wheel wells?

Does anyone make a kit to bring the door flush with the rocker panel like it is on the 370Z? All the side skirt kits are made to fit the OEM door bottom. It just seems to be begging for somebody to make a add-on to bring bottom of the door out a little.

are you talking about the bottom corner closest to the rear wheel? perhaps if someone were so inclined to make it flush you could do something with fiberglass, the only way it would seem to get that flush would be to bring the door out, behind the sideskirt is solid metal so there wouldn't be a way to push it in.

Ask Ajay Panchal, he designed it. And no, there isn't any aftermarket side skirts that make it flush.

Are you talking about this ledge at the bottom of the door? Guess its just one of many style points that make the 350Z unique. Although unique, Nissan should have known that the ledge is a dirt collector.

The lower section of the 350Z rocker was deliberately inset by Nissan designers to help add visual interest. This styling device helps break up the high beltline and slab sided appearence of the side on view. I think it works quite well. And no, there wasn't another JDM styled version of the Z. Whether LHD or RHD, the 350Z was designed as a world car design, big fender flares and all!
