I'm trying to figure out if the 350Z Sparco Harness Bar will also work in the G35. Does it have the same mounting points?

Can any vendors confirm this?

I asked for help in g35driver but really unless you're asking about pretty wheels or a "sick drop" they don't have the info my350z does.

Is it for show or track use?

If it's for track use have something fabbed up...may be cheaper and less painful than making something not meant to work!

Its for track primarily so functionality is key. Looking at the sparco bar it seems like it could work, pretty simple design, but I don't want to pay $400-500 to find out... I'll look further into having something fabbed. Thanks for the suggestion.

 

So here is a picture of my g35 coupe B pillar, could someone with a 350z tell me if this looks like yours, or maybe snap a picture for me so I can compare? I contacted Sparco and they said the 350z harness bar won't work in a g35, but who knows if they have tested it, or if they are saying that for liability reasons.

 

Probably the lower mounting points are different.

 

Ah... yea thats probably true, I didn't realize how it mounted to the rear, I see it now

 

Hmm I am confused, when I google sparco harness bar for the 350z, it shows a bar with 2 arms that extend downwards off the bar to lower mounting points. Maybe that is a stock photo used for all harness bars, because I see this one:

and it doesnt use any arms, it just has a bracket against the b pillar that prevents the bar from rotating.

Old thread I know, but if anyone is searching here is what I came across in my quest:

I have talked to several vendors and most say that Sparco does not list it for the G35, so it will not fit... So, I called Sparco USA and was told it was solely designed and tested for the 350z and it has not been tested in the G35 so they do not recommend you try and use it.

I also spoke with Speedware-Motorsports in Washington as they manufacture the bars for Sparco and they told me that the interior panels on the G35 are different and it will not work.
