Default Blacked out headlights :]

Hey guys, finally got around to doing this. I blacked out with satin black, halo mod, and sti lens. Looks incredible, worth the hard work. Sorry for the bad pics, didnt know my phone camera sucked this badly.

new pics guys. If you guys are wondering why I only took pics of the driver side headlight, its because there is no halo on the other side. I tested the halo while installing and it was defective. Ordering a new one and putting it on again soon.

Any way you could post some good quality day time pics? I have a carbon silver as well and was thinking about doing this.

To adjust headlight up and down, you can use built in adjustment points without physically moving your headlight.

To adjust right/left or tilt, you need to physically move the headlight by loosing the bolts that hold headlight on car... to get to the bottom bolt, you will need to take off your bumper again.

The goal is to get it to look like my crude drawing below:

in your opinion are halos in the z a waste of time considering how the headlamp is configured and how small the projector is. From about 15 ft and beyond there is no halo just a light in the assembly.

So I just got '06 headlights and they're already blacked out. But I was wondering, what's the advantage of the STI lens? I see this swap is pretty common...is it just a bigger lens for more light to travel through?

Looks great OP!!!

When you have just the halo's on, they look nice and very noticeable...assuming you turn them on around dusk/night. If you have your headlights on as well as halos, you can't really see the halo. For the amount of time/effort it took me to install the halos, some might say its not worth it. Personally I would not want to go through that process again.

The advantage of the sti lens.....clearer cut off, the color is a bit blue/purple when you are shining your headlights against a wall. If your just driving on the freeway you won't see the purple cut off. When you have your headlights on and look at them the light and lens are much clearer. If your thinking of opening up your headlights, might as well do the sti lens. Easiest mod. You just open the headlights, the case holding the lens, drop the lens in, and your done.
