Uh..........the stock HID bulbs are 4500k, anything 6000k or above is absolutely unusable by anyone with a fully functional brain (therefore ricers who think otherwise are sure to chime in), unless of course you want to look "cool". Don't be a tool who gets either HID-look-a-like bulbs or actual HIDs but tosses them in a standard halogen housings.
I think you probably mean 8500 kelvin temp. The stock z headlights are right around 4300 kelvin. Once you hit 6000 kelvin the light output will start to have a blue hue to it and when you get as high as 8000 k the light output is quite blue. As far as I'm concerned anything past 8000 is kinda dangerous at night especially on wet roads. Light output on stock bulbs is roughly 3200 lumens but once you hit 4700 k the lumens output will start to drop off due to less and less of the visible light spectrum being produced. By the time you get to 8500 k the lumens output would be right around 2300. If you want the best performance stick with bulbs between 4300 and 6000 kelvin.
