Default carbon dash..best adhesive? results?

So,

I got myself an Evo R dash and shifter area carbon cover....hmm. WOnt go into detail about what I think of this kit so far... may send it back. ( Already called for prices on APSis and any-s.net for RSW) With the standard supplied 3m ol gray tape..its way to thick, makes it fit like hell. Im really impatient and if i can use the kit i already paid for and have sitting here, it will be fine....but the adhesive needs to be ultra thin...or even just glued.

I live in AZ.... and its been a real b#tch trying to find a place that sells a thinner stlye 3m tape... theres no "tape store" around here..

So... I did my Stillen carbon gauge pillarrs w silicone adhesive..seemed to work well....

anyone else find a miracle adhsive I should be using here otherwise?

I just want to get this thing done and on and to forget about it. Grrr...not a fun mod to have to sand and refinsih to get to work.

Also, if anyone knows where I can get RSW parts instead NOW, ie in stock, maybe in the US.... thatd be great, Ill just send these back and go that route.
Its stick on carbon fiber, I mean it is what it is...I do think it looks nice, but its super gay when it actually takes work to put in... scary. Totally not happy about having spent this chunk of cash, but what do ya do.

For the price of the kit I would think it would be top notch but i guess not. Wouldnt the adhesive damage the dash, at some point the cf would be pulled up.?

I think 3m makes a transfer tape...i know exactly what u mean about the thickness of their tape making it look crappy when its on....i made a few overlays for some people back in the day and wheni did those i used their transfer tape...it is actually a piece that had adhesive on it, u stick it to the back of your piece then peel off...when u peel it off the adhesive "transfers" from the paper to the object youre taping...very thin and held ok from what i remember....look into that for the thinnest stuff ive ever seen. good luck

Nice, good tips....I ended up using 100 percent silicone adhesive, some 1000 grit sand paper, and several hours w a dremel and a file, then cut and buffed w a foam wheel, polished it up.....finished product turned out great.
