i want to have my high beams to work without the lows being on at the same time. on my 03 the lows(hid) stay on when in high beam mode.

anyone here wire this type of setup?

 

That would certainly reduce your light output. I can't imagine doing that. It will also shorten the life of your HID light bulbs because HID's don't like being turned on and off all the time.

im just curious because that is how the high/low beams work on my Z32.

 

Front some cash and get 2006+ bixenon headlamps. The HID works for low and highbeam by a physical shield that drops out of the way for highbeams.

Why do you want your lows off anyway?

 

I thought the point of the high beams were to project more light down the road. One would think having the high and low beams on at the same time when more light is desired would be an advantage to the user. Out of my own curiosity are you using your high beams for any other reason besides their designed intention?
