Default Interior Door Handle

Hey guys, I just picked up my 07 2 weeks ago, and the seller threw in a replacement for the interior arm rest/door handle that gets scratched very easily. I took it off, but I realized the windows/mirror adjuster is on there pretty solid. I have no idea how to take it off to swap it to the new door handle. If you have no idea what I mean, look at the pictures below. I tried searching and searching for DIY's but couldn't find anything.

Look at your last pic, it's held together by those clips.

Gently place a flathead screwdriver between the clips and the switches pop right out.

I did that, didn't "pop right out". That is why I'm asking in this thread. It's in there pretty tight, I'm wondering if anyone else had to go through this and found out how to pop it out.

On the 06-07 it is very common to scratch the paint on those handles. I don't know what they used to paint it, but it was horrible. A simple ring on your finger would cause all those scratches. I don't wear a ring and I'll watch out for scratching the new one. But I finally got it out, it was pretty damn stiff and took a lot of patience to pop them out. I guess it is held by those clips like waizzz said, but it doesn't slip out easily, I had to apply a lot of pressure to pop it out.

Thanks everyone.

Glad it worked out.

Those scratch pretty easily so keep the brass knuckles in the trunk.

Courtesy Nissan carries either version of the handle for no more than $75 for the newer model.

You can also paint them yourself as others have done. Search around for some ideas.

Actually, the seller paid for it, he said he paid $127 for it. Seems very high for such a simple piece but I wouldn't be surprised that a stealership would charge that much. If it was me personally, I would sand them both and paint them in a duplicolor plastic flat-black. Or that other rubby spray can crap, I forgot the name, but it works great and gives you that rubbery OEM feel. I'll see if I can find it.

my solution to scratches on the door handle, no need to rebuy or repaint, just simply stick on the cf fabric and your set. Looks good and can withstand nail scratches. to pop out the modules, simply rock it from side to side and when one of the sides is out, pry it alittle away from the clips and pop it out, took me a while also but got it done with out any broken clips, take your time.

Thanks, I managed to get it out and yes it definitely did take some time. But how much are those CF? Right now neither side has scratches, so I'm good, I don't wear rings and I'll take care every time I get in and out, but if it happens again I might repaint it or just buy these to put my mind at ease. I hope these aren't expensive.
