So I haven't seen many racing stripes or multi-color paint jobs except for two tone black on top / stock color on bottom. What's with this? Is it a faux pas to put stripes on the Z? Everyone just likes the 42 shades of silver that nissan sells the car in? Trying to decide if a custom paint job is in my future (some recent rock chips have piqued my interest in paint) Post up pictures of striped or multi-color paint schemes. I am curious to see what they look like. Thanks in advance!

The idea of this thread is non-color changes. In other words not just painting the car a different single color.

Yea stripes are more for domestic cars. Jap cars do graphics.

I have a "stripe" on my Z. Not the racing stripe most are thinking of though and most seem to like it...when they notice it.

These are old pics...as the car no longer has that body kit on it.

 

I don't have a stripe per say and I am far from the first person to do this, but I have black trim going along the bottom of my car. rear add ons and diffuser in black, sideskirts bottom part is black, front bumpers lip is black..

just keeping it clean. I sure didn't go out of my way to buy a lemans sunset Z just to change the color entirely, but I wanted to mix it up a little.

if I ever did paint the Z - it would be a color that is *far* from any stock color Z, so it would stand out more.

 

I have racing stripes, but they're not on the car.

 

strip it if you want... it's your car.

personally, i don't think it flows with the Z.
