Hi Group:
Picked up a nice, used Gentex HomeLink self-dimming mirror, and I need some assistance with the wiring it to my base '08 Z. This mirror is model ZTVHL3, and was sourced from a recent Maxima (or so I was told) wreck. It has a compass display, which might also include temp, as I can see the temp as well as direction segments in the LCD display area. The non-silvered area is rectangular, though, not square, as on other mirrors I've seen which have both compass and temp. Either way, I'm OK with it, but I can't guess at the wiring.
There is a 10-pin connector on the mirror, with 5 wires in place. They are:
red dotted with silver
black dotted with silver
white dotted with silver
light gray dotted with silver and a black stripe
light gray dotted with silver
The wiring has been cut, so there is only a connector on the mirror side. I won't have any trouble extending the pigtail and finding constant and switched +12V, and a ground, on the car, but I need to know which wires on the mirror are appropriate to use.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Didn't see anything on the Gentex site, but on the Mito (Gentex's US distributor) site there is a tech number to call. I'll try it during the week. I'm guessing different cars may have had different-colored wiring, so really all I need is a diagram of the pins in the plug.
I know there should be a +12V constant hot, a +12V switched, and a ground, but I'm wondering what the other two wires are for. Possibly a temp sensor, or some cars also had auto-dimming side mirrors linked to the inside mirror. Or, some had a connection to the backup light circuit, so the dimming was disabled for backing up, although you really shouldn't rely on your mirror for that
Anyone else have ideas on the pin configuration? I'd like to play with this project tonight, but if not, it's no big deal to put it off for a few more days until I can contact Gentex.
