What are the gizmos near the front corners of the hood in the picture in post #10? Look like they may be hold-downs. Are they used in addition to the stock hood release, or is that all there is? What about keeping thieves out of the engine bay?
they are hood pins and they are used in conjunction with the stock release. cf hoods are said to be unsafe overtime without the hood latches - it's more of a 'watch their own *** against lawsuits' sort of deal and more then likely you won't need them, they are just recommended for safety reasons.
hood flying up at high speeds is not fun, and good luck repairing your roof.
im thinking about getting a TS style carbon fiber hood for my brickyard, and i was wondering if anyone has any pics of their brickyard Z with a carbon fiber hood or/ painted with the vents left CF like this:
Thought I might add something to this. We carry a hood extremely similar to that.
All of our carbon fiber products come with an industry leading 1 year warranty against fading/cracking of the clear coat. We only use Grade A carbon fiber for our Carbon Creations line. They are sprayed with a premium clearcoat mixed with UV resistent additive in order to allow us to offer this warranty. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will more than happy to help you out!

Isn't it obvious the Seibon TS style hood is the way to go ...I got mine painted. I don't know how you guys tolerate punk kids wanting to race you all the time. The % of people trying to get me to race in the 5 days I had it CF was like 500% higher then normal. I couldn't stand it, usually kept the windows up because they were so irritating at stop lights.
