Why all the hate for the clear tails?
You read my mind, brosef.
Hands down best chip dip on planet earth, along with the fact it goes on every gawt damn thing except Captain Crunch.
You took a thread about clear tails and turned it into Guacamole. You sir, are a winner.
...Oh and clear tails were cool in the 90's, not no mo.
You already bought them, why do you care what people think at this point? Way more than half the people here don't like them, but if you like them don't worry what anyone else thinks.
Lets see your car.
I like the clear tails myself...but not a fan of the chrome or the red reflector that they come with. Follow the link below and check out the modified L.E.D. clear tails I do if you have not seen them already....

Its all about personal preference when modifying your car thats why its YOUR car. But on the other hand you did ask why all the hate for the clear tails so you can't expect to get a lot of love out of a thread like that when all the so called haters are going to flock to it and give their opinion... ya know?Don't take it personal...everyone has an opinion... Just brush that sh-t off and roll your clears. lol

HISTORY of teh CLEAR TAILS:
Its not so bad OP, at least you got the only ones that look halfway decent on the Z.
To help better answer your question, lets take a trip back in time with Mr. Peabody to about alittle over a decade ago...

In the beginning, god created clear tails, and they were good:

You'll remember seeing these all over the damn place mid to late 1990's:

Then, all of a sudden, EVERYBODY was putting them on anything with 4 wheels. They became so popular that the manf companies made a clear tail light for every peice of chit on the road, from trucks, to minivans, passanger cars, sports cars, etc.

Then, they became so popular that these guys even started putting them on stock from the factory with a little adjustment to make them legal, and the 'Altezza' tail was born...the clear tail wave had hit its peak...

But that was years and years ago. Nowadays, the whole "clear/altezza tails" thing is old, and saying that this fad is "played out" is being kind to the true reality of the situation.
Nowdays, the majority of serious enthusiasts no longer see the need nor want to relive a fad from the 90's, just as we no longer wear MC Hammer pants (i never did, bisches). It became something that was no longer an exclusive trademark to import enthusiasts. Everybody had them on everything, and to spend money for your car to look like every other car out there, including such royalty as an 82' Ford Aerostar, was retarded.
This fad is deader than dead, my friend. And i dont know about where you live, but where i live, the only cars that sport altezza or clear tails are these cats:

I hope you enjoyed this short version of the "E True Hollywood Story: Clear tails". ...Now /Thread.

I have noticed that people put shitty cheap lights on their garbage cars but never really put these in the same category. These are $400+ lights and I think the look like it but I can see how a lot of people on here can't get past it since so many people put cheap lights on their cars thinking it looked good. I guess it's I see it kind of like two guys wearing a Timex and an Omega. Both have watches on but you know one is better than the other just by looking at them.
I guess it must help increase downforce or something.

They are called drift charms....some do it for looks (fake drifters or as you put it "Honduh fanboys") others (real drifters) do it for luck in drifting...Like many other things it started in Japan

I can understand the culture behind it. In Japan, anyway.

I've got a silverstone that I put those JDM lights on just recently. In one week I had three women in my family ask me if I had just changed my taillights as they thought it really made my car. They had no idea I had replaced them. Defense rests.
lol that's kind of incestual...
