Default Rear bumper alignment

So it looks like my new Z was in a rear end accident, and was repaired. But, the bumper sticks out a little from the quarter panel. I have to push the bumper in to even the lines, but as soon as I let go, it goes back to the improper shape. Any ideas how to make the lines nice and flush?

There's a mounting bolt inside the fender that attaches the bumper to the quarter panel. Sounds like that might be missing. You should be able to check for it without removing the tire or jacking it up. It's right at the seam where they meet, just inside the fender.

Thanks for the reply. The bolt is there :/. The middle part sticks out, and the part where the bolt is is pushed in a little.

Gotcha. There's a rail along that top side section mounted inside the bumper that slides onto a support mounted to the vehicle itself. Sounds like that rail is misaligned and that the support is not inside the rail. Wish I had pics. If you don't feel comfortable pulling it off yourself, take it back and tell the body shop to fix it.

Start here..
https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...-pictures.html

the rail hes talking about is this one: (its a plastic doctors pill shape)

the plastic mounted on the car, slides into the black slot mounted on the bumper(bottom half of pic)
