Default Totaled or not

so a few days ago we had a preety bad storm come out of nowhere. Which caused a good sizee tree limb to fall on the roof of my car. I called my insurance and there gonna come and look at it on Tuesday. And when I told them what happened they said its borderline totaled/repairable. The rest of the car is fine starts and runs good its just the roof and windshield that are messed up. To me it looks like the majority of the roof could just be poped back out the only real labor part I see is them fixing were the roof and winshield meet. Also my a pillars werent hit so those are fine.. so need to see what the insurance adjustier says with his qoute

Whould that be enough to total a car. I have a 04 touring with 74000 miles in real good shape before the tree

pictures up further down posts

Depends if the repair cost is more than the actual car is worth.

IMO, it doesn't sound totaled, but we'd need some pics.

Depends on the extent of the damage. The area between the roof and windshield is tricky. Because its not safe to put any kind of filler in the area where the windshield glues to the car. Hard to say though without pics at the moment.

Seems fixable... but it depends on how much you owe on the car, what it's worth, etc.

The whole roof is going to need replaced. That's not salvageable. More than likely it's going to be totaled because the cost to replace the roof, plus parts, and paint is going to be very high for that project. To repair that is going to take some serious time. Then add in the cost of a windshield.

That's because your 03' is worth about $12. $6k (repair cost) divided by ~$12k value = ~50%. Totaling, for most insurance companies, is when the repair:value is over 75%. I'm not body shop, but I'd say the car he posted is totaled.

I really hope its repairable i love this car. Iv'e only had it for about a year and a half and have done alot in the short time with it. Hopefully they can take off the headliner and pop out the majority of the dent and just spend time on that one spot on the edge trying to straighting it out.

Totaled. They totaled mine for the top being cut, and the stereo being removed. 04, with a book value of 17k.

Really? The only damage was a new top for your ZR and a replacement stereo? 75-80% of book is about $13k of damage, and I didn't think a new top/install with a stereo replacement was that much?!?

They would have had to replace a couple dash components ( Area surrounding the Shifter, and the Bezel around the stereo) as the guys were idiots when they removed it.

<- They broke this too after they couldn't reach the door lock from slicing the top. And shattered the window

Still really wasn't that bad.
