You definitely picked the best of the bunch, BBBT

Never having dealt with CF parts before, I have what I hope isn't a dumb question...

How hard are they to paint?
I'm not a fan of the CF look, but I do like the hood style on BBBT's car. I'd consider a hood change, but only if I could paint to match the factory color.

for me CF only looks clean on a black car... If you need to paint it its just like painting a Fiberglass piece. The prep work is smiliar. If youre getting the hood like mine, may I recommend that you leave the fins in CF so that you have that little CF highlight on your hood. It makes it a bit different.

Any word on how this will handle the rain? I'm in an extremely wet climate and I'd think this might (unfortunately) be a nightmare!

Thanks BBBT. That post makes more sense to me now.

So with the seals in place, I guess you'd have six small puddles sitting in your hood!

techincally yes... although i remember that the cover did have a channel to let water flow through quite easily. Still i dunno where the channel leads to. I need to get back on you regarding that. I miss my car, its been missing for a week!

That is a real nice hood, one of the best I have seen. Don't really go for the CF hood look, but that one is pretty sweet. 750 is a good price for a hood, Adam, will it be around that??

havabooz, good idea on the rubber strip, a good seal for the hood would definitely help in any aerodynamic vibration.

Pricing should be right around there, probably a bit less. We'll do a package with shiping (goes by truck sine it is so large) as well as the hood pins.

I'll be painting mine

Adam,

Just PM-ed you.

BTW, BBBT mentions "fins" above... what fins??? Are you talking about the vent inserts that look white on the hood?

yeah sorry i mean vents... the vent area, it would look sweet if you left it CF and paint the rest of the hood.

if you DO get CF.. just be sure to put a clear coat over what come with.... for added protection against cracking and UV protection...

Hmm... I dunno... on SB, PPW, etc maybe... on Brickyard I don't think the CF look will be so hot. Now leaving the actual vents white may be pretty sweet in concert with the white sidemarkers...
