Just got an e-mail back from Seibon. Apparently the weight is 16lbs (for BBBT's hood), and in their opinion it doesn't require hood pins.

Probably better to be safe, though. It's just too bad pins ruin the hood's lines!

what does the stock aluminum hood weigh anyways?

First time I saw the hood at SEMA I thought it was Hasimei hood. Then Ben told me it's from Seibon. It is very interesting hood. I must say it is lighter than any other carbon fiber hood I seen. Well, maybe same weight as the Veilside one. I just wish on those vents are more deep angle in and bigger.

It won't be January, that I can tell you - was told that from the owner yesterday, though we still put our orders in to be on the safe side, as they frequently do not get huge stock, since they cover so many model lines.
