Default Anyone know the name or part of this part of the oem steering wheel

I'm looking to replace the gray plastic where the cruise is on the steering wheel. When I bought my car it looks like the previous owner had big rings or something and scratched them all up. I figured it would be cheaper than buying an entire new steering wheel.

It's called the steering switch. See:

The pn is [25550M] SWITCH-ASCD,STEERING

I thought that was clearcoated brushed aluminum? Or are we not talking about the panel?

He was referring to the steering wheel controls.

Pretty sure it's just plastic.

I hate that plastic piece. For whatever reason that plastic piece is shedding, flaking off whatever coated it. I've done nothing other than touch it while driving and it now looks like crap. Anyone know what i'm talking about? It looks like skin peeling off, but instead of your skin, it's peels from the plastic

I have the exact same problem.

It's inevitable that we will need to replace these over time just like the driver side window switch covers.

Why not cover the piece with vinyl wrap?
