Nissan Emblem TAPE??
ok I had to have my front bumper repainted because i hit a dog. The body shop that painted it seemed to use thicker tape for the Nissan emblem on the front... Now my CF emblem fillers i have dont fit. So i was wondering if anyone knows were i can get the tape nissan normally uses to attach the emblems?
Also how do you remove the emblem?
Stupid question but... nm not gonna give an excuse

just take it off and see what the thickness they used, then go buy something thicker. I hope when I get my car repaired this month, they dont do the same thing. They better put my emblem fillers back in.

i said same thing (after i said F*** few times because of the hole in my bumper!)
anyways the dog ran off. I never found him.. He bounced off my car (i didnt run over him). maybe he lived.
Perhaps try asking the maker of the emblem fillers...
This exact thing has happened before when people have had their emblems off. Every body shop in the universe uses 3M double stick foam tape to do this kind of thing. It is much higher quality (and also thicker) than the stuff the factory uses. Dr. Bonz was the first to run across this when he had his Nismo rear wing done, and we came up with a good solution:
The idea is to thicken the filler instead of thinning the tape. That way you don't have to take your emblem off again and go hunt for thin foam tape.
Take some clear packing tape and stick it to the back of the emblem filler, covering the whole thing. Trim around the edges so no tape hangs over. You now have a thicker emblem filler. It may take 2-4 layers depending on how thick both the emblem tape and the packing tape are.
Please PM or email me if you need more advice or are having a problem.
Good luck!

Whoa. That's some thick body tape.
I don't think you'll have any problem with the body tape removing paint from the car. It's made for that application. Just be very careful removing it (peel it back over itself instead of pulling it straight away from the paint). I hear a hair dryer helps a lot...
