Im a pretty lean dude, but Ive got the regular Evo's and I personally love the fit. Thought having full buckets in a daily would be a pain but they are really comfortable.

i have the evo 2, which are good for a size 34-36 waist.. the evo 1 i would say is good for a size 32-34. by that deduction.. evo 3 is for 36+ waists...
remember. the evo's shoulder bolsters will slightly touch the interior door panel when the door closes. my evo2 and my friend's evo 1s will slightly touch, you can remedy this solution by removing the cloth covering, shaving the left shoulder bolster and putting the cloth cover back.
the Evo 2 is extremely light weight frp shell and is comparable to the Recaro Pole Positions in terms of size, weight and price.. (i have the Pole Positions in my s13 track car)
you can't got wrong with either Sparco or Recaro race buckets.
HOWEVER, due note this: if you plan on tracking the car, and you are taller than 5' 5", and intend on using SLIDERS with the seat, the Wedge engineering brackets that are often sold with the Recaro or Sparcos will need to be SHORTENED else your head will be too close to the roof with the stock interior lining and a helmet on. i strongly suggest custom seat brackets which basically attach the sliders to the floor. the wedge brackets are mfg such that they are compatible with both side mount and bottom mount seats.. so there normally is around an additional 1" of spacing such that you can bottom mount some reclining race seats to a universal bracket. this significantly reduces the head room.
just something to consider... because any reputable machine shop can weld / cut a flat seat bracket for only a few bucks more than what you are paying for a Wedge seat bracket. its really not that bad option and it's benefits FARRRRR outweigh the inconvenience.
if you don't ever plan on wearing a helmet or tracking with the seats or using seat sliders, then you might be ok.
