Default A Pillar - How To Remove

Hey guys,

I have tried searching for this but I haven't had any luck. My driver's side A pillar has a small crack in it and I want to replace it. I'm trying to determine if I need to have a body shop do the swap or if it's something that I can accomplish myself.

Will someone who has removed/installed an exterior A pillar before, please let me know how it's accomplished and if an amateur can do it?

Thanks!

take the door weather stripping off. unbolt about 6-8 screws, pull the chrome thingy off.. then pop the pillar right off... really easy

Sweet. Thanks guys.

Here's a link to the DIY just in case someone else needs it.

One question. It appears that it is necessary to remove the B pillar to get to a screw holding on the A pillar. What is the proper tool to use to remove the B pillar? It looks like some kind of body shop tool in the pics that are included with the DIY.

make sure u take the rubber strip off. and the 8 screws before trying to pop it off.. otherwise you run the risk of breaking it

you can use a "panel popper" to pry off the b-pillar... You can also pop it off by hand, but be very careful...

I just ordered a panel popper kit. Thank you! I had no idea what it was called.
