Where can I get the Nismo Concept RS shift knob finisher?
Well here's some "good" news...
I went to Nissan today, and it was as I'd feared. To get that Maxima piece, you have to order the boot and the only way to get the boot is with the entire surrounding trim panel. The price? $170. The one from the Altima is too different.
Japan was fresh out.

Time to scope out the junk yards then. I remember calling Nissan about it as well and they told me the same thing.

Nice job. Those look like a match too.
170 definitely isn't horrible, although it's a pity that that's what I'd have to spend just for that little plastic piece....pretty silly that you can't just buy the boot.
The real trouble is that no one has it in stock. And I don't want to buy it before I ever put my hands on it. And Nissan seems to be very lame about their parts policy...you have to buy before they order. When I had my M3, I could go down to BMW and literally order anything I wanted with no obligation to buy.
DEFINITELY time to start checking on salvage cars. If anybody finds an extra one, grab it for me and I'll shoot some money your way.

This is becoming ridiculous.
My shift **** came in today, so that's one piece down. But dealing with Nissan dealerships is migraine inducing.
Pardon my French, but it is THE MOST FUKING ridiculous policy in the world to make you pay for something when you don't even know what it is you're getting. No one can tell me if it's part of the shift ****, the shift boot or the whole damn shift lever.
Now I'll buy any of them, but I'll be damned if I do it before I know what I'm getting. And no one knows...I've called all over the country. And conveniently, no one has them in stock either....it's the same old same old..."I have to special order it".
I could literally order a part for my M3 that was in a warehouse in GERMANY and not be charged if I didn't buy it. I'm calling Nissan North America...this is beyond ridiculous. Either get a more detailed parts diagram or don't expect me to pay in advance.
Anybody else have some luck?
