Question Sparco: Milano or Torino Seats ?

I just bought a Silverstone Z and looking to replace the seats.

I haven't had a chance to sit in either one of these, but I hear nothing but good reviews on both. I'm curious to hear opinions as to which one would be better? I want the "feel wrapped up" feel to where you're "IN" the seat :-) If that makes sense, haha.

My two choices:

    Default Tough choice

I too have a silverstone Z and have been looking at Sparco seats. I have seen both in person (in supras) but never in a Z. I will probably end up getting black leather milanos. The Z is my first non leather car. I kind of miss it.

Have you sat in either? You should try that.

I was considering Bride seats but they're made for the Japanese, i.e., smaller frames and I could not sit in any of them comfortably. Good news on the horizon, Bride is on the verge of introducing wider seats for the ample framed.

Either way, I have chosen to go with the Sparco Pro2000 seats. I sat in them at SEMA and they fit me like a glove...absolutely loved them.

i went to the SuperAutoBacs store today..

test sat in the Bride Brix and the Sparco Turino,

i'm 5'8", 42R jacket, chest size and 34 waist, the brides were a little tight on the shoulder for me.. the turinos were so awesome... fit like a glove.. both seats had really good lumbar support...

they had the brane new Sparco model... i dunno what its called. but those fit even better than the turinos..

I had the chance to sit in the Torino seats today and LOVED THEM! I am still looking for reviews as to what people have to say between the Torino and the new Milano 2s. I too have never had a non-leather car and MISS IT! I didn't think I would until now :-)

The Milano 2s are verrrry sleek looking, but just waiting to hear what people have to say about them

    Probably the Monza.

I'm not a big fan of the adjustable seats, they weigh too much and cost too much. I like the Sparco Rev or Evo. They are lightweight and fit my size well. (30 waist)

Between the Milano and Torino I would get the Milano because I think they look better.

Yeah, so far i'm leaning towards the Milano as well because they look much nicer. Especially the adjustables on the sides are silver to match the accents in the car. And you can get them in leather :-)

I wouldn't be able to go any other way than adjustables :-)

The December issue of SCC has a seat buyers guide in it. They include prices/seat materials/fit for different waist sizes.

I've been looking for a different seat for quite some time. And i've been having a bit of trouble. One of the main things im looking for is a lower seat height. I'm not super tall, but im too close to the roof for my liking. But in all the research i've done, i cant seem to find any reviews that have to do with the seat height.

To anyone that owns the Millanos, does it sit lower in the car? I'm only looking for 2-3 inches. With out any reviews, or actually sitting in anything in a Z, i'm leaning towards the Milano's for looks and adjustability (the Z is not my track car). Anyways, good luck on your search Webiteks, and let me know how you like the Milano's.

Are you buying locally? If so, who?

I most likely will not be buying locally. The only local dealers around here are Rush Hour Motorsports and Adrenaline Motorsports, and from what I've heard - both of them are sky high with their markups.

I saw you're from St.Louis "Whowsdady" - where from in St.Louis? I'm in Edwardsville, IL (15min from downtown)

I work in Clayton and live in Manchester. Edwardsville is where turbo connectin is located, correct? There are a couple other shops locally. Light Speed, Road Rage etc. But yes, they are all overpriced. I only asked because I thought maybe you might have a local hook up. The vendors are pretty good on this sight. Also check out EBAY. There is a Sparco vendor that sells a pair of Milanos at a very reasonble price.

As Victor had mentioned, I believe the seat you are speaking of is the Monza. I had a chance to sit in one at SEMA and it felt about the same as the Milano. The Milano is normally covered in Alcantara (suede-like material) and lists for $899/each, although they offer it in tan, black and red leather at $1299/each. Here's a picture of a Monza I took at SEMA. No price was posted, but should be a little less than the Milano.

The Milano's are 38 lbs/each according to Sparco's size chart. I would assume the Monza is about the same. Anyone know the weight of the stock seat?

I never saw the Monza. . They look very good! Do you know if they come in leather like the Milano does? If not, it wouldn't be hard to get it upholstered.

I'm not sure of the "Turbo Connection" around in Edwardsville. I try to stay away from shops at all possible. I do all of my buying and selling online and have saved thousands that way :-)

I will definatly start looking around on E-bay. . especially on the Monza.

Whosdady.... what do you drive .... any modifications? Maybe we could meet up somewhere. Always fun knowing someone around town with another Z.

Only comes in Microfiber. If you want leather you're better off just getting the Milanos. As far as finding Monzas on Ebay, one company lists them but the picture they have posted isn't the same seat. This seat was just released and Sparco doesn't even have pictures of them on their website yet.

EDIT: Here is a link to their pricelist. They do show a list price on the Monza seats at $729 vs $899 for the Milano (Alcantara, not leather). Sparco Price list (PDF) (page 4)
