Default Hood Recommendations

I currently have no hood and wanted your opinions on my options for a new hood:

Not looking for the CF look but not ruling out Fiberglass or CF Hoods themselves.

I'm looking for recommendations on where to procure hoods and painting the various materials. A few options I've found:

- Order from Courtesy, get painted at a shop: ~$700
- Order from Ebay, comes pre-painted: ~$450 (more than likely sub par quality)
- Find used stock hoods on Ebay/Forums, get re-painted: ~$450-650
- Order CF Hood, get painted: ~$800-1000+

Anyone who has experience purchasing hoods, can you lend your two cents? Thanks

ask superchargedg about his stillen hood...

On a serious note, whats your budget? I would not buy anything pre-painted unless I was 100% sure of the color matching. Ask some of NJ guys at their meets about thier opinions, like Phreaktor who is currently getting his car painted. If it were me, I would buy used carbon fiber hood with good fitment and get it re-cleared. (Shipping would cost $) Im not a fan of painting over CF, but thats just me.

What year is your car? You wouldn't wanna buy the 03-06 if you have an HR. I have the Seibon VT version, others think its too flashy but I think its just right. Stay away from the banned vendors...

nothing prepainted.. just pick what you like that fits your budget, you already know what painting a hood will cost.

OP, was there any particular style you were looking for? We carry a few options for the Z33 depending on the year. We also offer discounts to My350z members so keep that in mind.

just my 2 cents, you can get a used cf hood for relatively cheap, so my thought is, why not go ahead and upgrade from stock. i know that VIS and Seibon make oem style hoods if that is what you are looking for. mine is a VIS cf hood, 07-09, "terminator" style and fitment is great, i only pinned it because i have had a hood fly up on my before and im not dealing with that again.. check it, save weight (i know not all cf hoods are lighter, but mine saved almost 8 pounds)
