Default Tinting Headlights/Tailights Help

Hey Everyone,

I just bougth a 2003 Nissan 350Z Track Edition. It has 65,000 Miles On It Got for $11,500. Car Is Silver, and I am wanting to Tint or Smoke the Light's on it...I started on a headlight last night and did'nt do to bad for my first run. I do have window tinting experience, but I am having trouble getting the tint to stretch properly. Is there a special seceret to doing this correctly? If So please help and respond with the secret. The rear tailights are going to be a bit more complicated because they are not flat like most the have the bubble that comes off of the light where the brake light is and that's my biggest problem. All Help would be greatly appreciated. Also wondering how dark is to dark? I had some 5 % laying around so that's what I used as my test run, still have enough to do the whole car like that just think it might be a little dark. Do you think 20 % is the best choice? Can I put two layer's of 20 % tint on it to make it darker because I want them as dark as possible with the ability to still see well at night. If you can help or have any ideas, please respond ASAP.

Thanks,

first off the blacked out OVERLAY isnt tint its a different material DO NOT tint or place overlays on your headlights you will regret it once the heat insulates and gives your headlight housing stress cracks ( i learned this the hard way on my old Z) if u wish to get a blacked out look on your headlights search the site there is a few DIY for blacken out your headlights (looks better on 06+ headlights) it doesnt look as bad on 03-05 lights just do some research its not hard to DIY

Do it the easy way.

Takes about twenty minutes and costs a couple bucks. No worries about taking the headlights apart, resealing them, or baking them to get the moisture out.

With a little more effort you can go both directions for that carbon fiber look.

Take to body shop and get lights sprayed and baked. Looks way better, looks the way you are hoping that film will look (but won't), and it doesn't come off like that bs film. Anyway, do w/e you want, but it will cost like $150 and look sweet...done.

Have the headlights painted they look ricey with tint.

Do a search for "taillight tinting" if you really want to do it but I'm not a fan of it so I would recommend against it.
